I woke on Saturday 19th of August somewhat nervous. I knew I would be a little nervous, after telling myself for the days leading up to the competition “it’s ok, you’re just going to go have fun, climb, enjoy it and promote paraclimbing” but my mind had other ideas. I’ve always been “sporty” and competitive and that part of my brain kicked in and the mental game was on.

Well it’s certainly been a busy few weeks, and things didn’t go quite to plan; but it has certainly been a bit of an adventure! I’m having to take it a little easy so thanks for being patient on waiting on my blog and pictures, I am getting there, its just taking longer than I would like!

Climbing NZ Lead National Champs 2017; Q2 Paraclimbing Video, Antnz

This was my Second Qualification round at the Climbing NZ Lead Climbing Championships. This is the qualifier I fell off. From watching this I think I rushed slightly, didn’t double check my foot placement and when I went to load up my left leg my foot rolled off the hold.

Please bare with me, I didn’t get the rest and recovery I expected to after the competition, so I will be posting pics and my thoughts over the next few days!

Wow what a weekend!

On the 19th and 20th of August the Climbing NZ National Lead Championships was held at Extreme Edge, Glen Eden. This year was the first time that Para/Adaptive climbers participated in an offical Climbing NZ event.
