January started quietly then ramped up!

It’s been an intense couple of weeks that’s for sure!

So after taking it easy for a few months it’s time for me to start putting my toes back in the waters of Enabling Good Lives and being more active again in taking control of what I can control and try to let go of the rest. Which is hard, I seem to be “hard wired” to just get in there and make it happen. I also have a lot going on with the “medical” side of life coming up so I’m prioritizing what I do and how much I take on this year.

I know I said I’d be more posting more regularly…. then I went AWOL. Now it’s a new decade!

Well I know that I said I would be posting more regularly in my last blog, then I promptly seemed to fall off the planet. Honestly though whanau; I had a mental breakdown at the end of August. It’s taken me until now to get my head together again enough to write. It’s been a case of surviving so I can once again thrive.

Road Trip Feb 2018 Part 3

It’s taken awhile, editing a slide-show with voice over is a lot harder than editing video, as you see me state in the video I was a bad vlogger and took lots of pics but no video! A full blog that goes alongside this video will be added shortly.

Part 4 shouldn’t be too far away! Transcript below video.

Enjoy!

Yes, I’ve been a “bad” blogger

A bit of an update

Yes I have been quite the last couple of months.  It’s been hectic, I’ve been tired and had a few health things surface that I have needed to deal with as well. All this led to me having to step away from the keyboard for a few weeks. So strap in for a brief overview of the last couple of months. I guess at times you just have to survive so you can go on to thrive again, so I’ve just been taking the steps to get back to thriving lately.

How did I end up here??

Once again I was busy last week!

Last week was jam packed full! One of the busiest weeks I have had in awhile.

On Monday the 12th March we ended up needing to take ADNZ Ben to the vet, he’d been limping a little at the end of the week before and through the weekend. Turns out it was a suspected sprain or sublaxation of one of his toes. At that point he was prescribed anti-inflammatory meds and “crate rest” for a week, with a reassessment on Monday the 19th of March. This was a concern for me as I was flying to Wellington on Wednesday morning, returning on Thursday and I haven’t traveled without ADNZ Ben in the 5 years that I have had him. ADNZ Ben being off duty and my hand still recovering from “minor surgery” the week before meant I would be rolling for this trip rather than using my crutches.

Never a dull moment.

Been another interesting week
On Friday the 3rd of March I went and checked out the Show Your Ability expo. It was really good to see the advances in technology and equipment available and if I had the money I’d  invest in one of the handcrank mountain bikes. I did a bit of filming and when we edited it together I discovered that the sound quality was a bit crap, so I have since ordered an external mic for my phone for future recording. I’ve also learnt to slow down when I pan around an area etc.  We still edited together what we had, I transcribed the audio and posted it here: https://www.antnzventures.co.nz/2018/03/03/show-your-ability-2018/ on Sunday evening.

Trying to get back into my “normal” routines

Rejoining the “rat race”

So I was AWOL last week, and for good reason I say.  The place we were staying has little stable mobile reception; that and I needed a proper break away from the hustle and bustle of constant phone calls, emails, blogs etc etc etc.  In all honesty it was a good break away and the trip we took, although hectic and energy consuming was exactly what I needed.

I’m supposed to be “taking a break” but I thought I’d check in.

A bit of a quick check in with a Vlog

I’m taking a bit of a “break” and taking some time out, however I thought I’d do a quick Vlog and let you know where things are at!
I’m being kept to a pretty strict “one hour every two days” work time so I actually take a bit of a break and rest so, I’ll update when I can!
A transcript of the Vlog can be found in the YouTube description.
Take care, thrive not survive and remember life is an AntnzVenture!
